65 aboard on November 5-6, 2022 KY Transport
In memory of Sue Habeck Jackson
This week's transport was dedicated to the memory of Sue Habeck Jackson.
Sue passed away unexpectedly on October 18th, at the age of 53. Sue dedicated her life to saving any and all living, breathing things that came her way. Our hearts are broken. We have lost a true road warrior. Sue would be delighted to know that 65 sweet souls are making it out of KY and on to wonderful Rescues for better lives and brighter futures.
Sue was a dedicated volunteer transporter who drove for the ECPT KY transport since 2017. Sue would often switch her work schedule in order to help save a KY life. She always needed a special “co-pilot” to ride in the front seat so she could show that special dog the love they deserved for the time she had them.
She was flexible with legs - often driving multiple legs - covering anywhere from Erie to Syracuse. If she couldn't drive on Saturday evening, she would often drive Sunday morning when the transport restarted. She also went to KY with Chris for a transport.
34 dogs and 26 puppies made the trip.
Plus 5 kittens!
Many thanks go out to the network of volunteers that make these transports possible. Thank you to the shelter staff, transport coordinators, receiving rescues, drivers, co-pilots, overnight hosts, monitors, and donors.
